This 2024 article references aspects of Wolfensberger’s work, among other conceptual frameworks, as a way of promoting a fuller welcome and integration of disciples with physical and intellectual impairments into the life of the Church. Social Role Valorization and valued roles are briefly mentioned; nonetheless, the author expresses a preference for Normalization. Furthermore, the author focuses almost exclusively on integration and individualization, and describes a number of inhibitors as well as facilitators of Normalization.
